Lawn care in autumn

Some lawns have to withstand heavy wear and tear throughout the entire summer, such as intensive use, glaring heat and one or two garden parties. So now is the time to do something beneficial for the damaged lawn and repair the ravages of the summer. And nothing could be simpler. Burnt and damaged areas should be generously watered in order to wash out the salt. The ground should either be loosened slightly or covered with fresh soil. The areas are then scattered with grass seed. Finally, everything is covered with potting soil and watered generously until the seeds germinate. September is particularly suitable for sowing, as the ground is still warm from the summer and there is usually sufficient rain. If sowing takes place later, there is a danger that the sensitive grass blades may be damaged by frost.
